It was too tempting not to get. I really love new gadgets and being the consumer whore I am, I picked one up this morning. I waited a couple hours last night at an AT&T store after work but they sold out there. The Apple stores however had a shit load. There was almost no line at the SoHo Apple store when I went in and they had quite a few demo units to play with.

I played with it quite a bit today and it's just fun to use. We'll have to see if the novelty wears off. Even though this thing is lots of fun to play with, I have some complaints.

First off iTunes would not work with Vista 64 bit. It would tell me that the iPhone software was not installed and to remove and reinstall iTunes to get it to work. So I tried that a few times and still got nowhere. I even tried installing iTunes on my laptop which was also running a 64 bit version of Vista. I ended up having to connect it to my server still running xp stashed away in my closet.

All these pictures were taken with my iPhone which produces half decent pics but video support would have been really cool. I mean they have YouTube support but don't they realize that cellphone cameras is a major source of internet videos?

My biggest annoyance with the iPhone however is the fact that I couldn't transfer my old number to the phone. The iTunes activation told me the number could not be transfered so I went through firs Tmobile's customer support to transfer the number. After talking to some guy over there he told me I would have to call up AT&T's support. So I did that and when I finally got to talk to a person I was just told once again that my old number just wasn't transferable.

Griping aside I really enjoy using the device. The interface is definitely slick and the gestures are pretty intuitive. Also it's much lighter and easier to carry around then my PSP so I'm happy with it. Videos look great on the glossy screen but the screen attracts fingerprints like crazy.

Awesome. I would have seriously considered getting one if it was a 3G and I hadn't just bought an 80GB iPod. :(

That's what you get for using the POS that is Vista.

Just get a Mac, man, you're almost there. Look at all those wires. LOL.
